Numbers in Latin and Months in Calendar

Number Latin

One - Unus
Two - Duo
Three - Tres
Four - Quattuor
Five - Quinque
Six - Sex
Seven - Septem
Eight - Octo
Nine - Novem
Ten - Decem

I started to notice a connection here to the months in the Standard Calendar.

In the Calendar the Month's are lined up as such:

Jan 1
Feb 2
Mar 3
Apr 4
May 5
Jun 6
Jul 7
Aug 8
Sept 9
Oct 10
Nov 11
Dec 12

But if you look at the names of the Latin Numbers you'll notice that

Septem is 7
Octo is 8
Novem is 9
Decem is 10

So if you line them up in that manner according to the Latin Number root words of the Months you get the following:

Jan 11
Feb 12
Mar 1
Apr 2
May 3
Jun 4
Jul 5
Aug 6
Sept 7
Oct 8
Nov 9
Dec 10

That makes March the 1st Month of the Year.
